The Water Cycle

Earth’s water is everywhere!
It bursts from the clouds overhead, precipitating as rain and snow upon lofty mountain tops. Melted snow becomes waterfalls, lakes, and rivers that flow and meander all over the earth, driven by the natural forces of gravity towards the ocean. The ocean stores 96.5% of the total water on Earth. It also supplies 90% of the evaporated water back to the skies to continue its cyclic trek through the earth. Rivers and streams refresh and supply the moisture for plants to grow, and for crops to flourish so that we’re supplied with food and fuel. Lakes harbor all manner of fish, amphibians, crustaceans, algae, and microscopic aquatic denizens that contribute to the cycles of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and sulfur.
The vast blue ocean soothes us on a nostalgic beach stroll, refreshes us on a hot summer day and keeps Mother Earth’s temperature cool enough to support all biological organisms.
The fluid nature of the ocean allows it to diffuse the effects of temperature change through vertical mixing and convective movements. The sea also is critical to storing billions of tons of carbon, which is a key element in all life on Earth. The intertwining activities of all these organisms allow the oceans to maintain the carbon on the earth and its atmosphere.

But all this water—in the oceans, in the rivers, on the mountains—is finite. This means that the amount we had when the earth’s atmosphere formed (in the primordial past) is the same amount we’ve got now.
It's all we’ve got.
If it becomes irrevocably undrinkable, impure, and sickens us, we’ll have to order some new water— and hope it gets delivered in time!

Given the state of our Mother Earth’s water and the nature of environmental politics, we need help.

That help is here!

It comes from the trillions of microbes that transform pollutants and clean up our water. These wonderful microbes wield their powers to purify this precious fluid, water, that supports the living matrix of our planet!

Learn more in my Microbe Whisperer Guidebook. This Guidebook and oracle deck provide guidance on how we to ask the microbial spirit guides for help in cleaning up our planetary water.
